BROWNE TRADING MARKET SPECIAL TASTING: THE WINES OF COS with DEVENISH and UVA 

COS Ramí Terre Siciliane Bianco 2020 - $39.00 A blend of 50% each Grecanico (i.e. Garganega) and Insolia spontaneously fermented on the skins and raised in concrete tanks and glass. 12 year old vines planted 5,000 vines per hectare.

 COS Zibibbo in Pithos Terre Siciliane 2021 - $50.00 This Zibibbo (i.e. Muscat of Alexandria) comes from slightly older vines, about 21 years old, fermented on the skins with native yeasts in terracotta amphorae and raised in the same.    

COS Frappato Terre Siciliane 2021 - $39.00 100% Frappato di Vittoria from 15 year old vines fermented spontaneously and aged in concrete tanks and in bottle.

  COS Nero di Lupo Terre Siciliane Rosso 2020- $38.00 This is 100% Nero d’Avola from 15 year old vines at about 230 meters avobe sea level, fermented with indigenous yeasts and raised in concrete tanks and glass. 

COS Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG 2018  - $48.00 This DOCG defining wine is a blend of 60% Nero’d’Avola and 40% Frappato from 25 year old vines, spontaneously fermented and raised in large Slavonian barrels for one year, followed by a year in concrete. 

COS Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG delle Fontane 2017  - $69.00 The della Fontane is sourced from the best sites in Fontane, with more layers of compact clay and sand in the mix, which yield more powerful wines. The blend and winemaking are the same as for the regular Classico, and the wine spends two years in Slavonian barrels, followed by a year in concrete and six months in bottle.
